On January 15, 2025, Becas Vallarta held its third seasonal breakfast at the renowned Daiquiri Dick’s restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. These breakfasts have become key gatherings to strengthen the community of scholarship recipients, alumni, donors, and supporters, providing an opportunity to share progress and reinforce the commitment to education.
On this occasion, we had the honor of welcoming Carmen Sofía Reyes Zúñiga, director and president of Vallarta Opina newspaper. Her presence at the event was especially meaningful, as her journalistic work has played a crucial role in promoting social and educational initiatives in the region. During the breakfast, she shared her perspective on the importance of supporting education and the impact of programs like Becas Vallarta in shaping young people’s futures.
Additionally, two distinguished alumni joined us as special guests, sharing their testimonies on how the scholarship program influenced their academic and professional journeys.

The first was Bárbara Susana García Peña, a Nursing graduate from the Centro Universitario de la Costa, who completed her degree with an outstanding GPA of 9.7. Her story is a testament to hard work and dedication, demonstrating how access to quality education can transform lives and contribute to the well-being of the community.
We were also joined by Yolanda de Jesús Sandoval, a graduate in Computer Systems Engineering from Tec Vallarta. During her participation, she shared her experience as a scholarship recipient for ten years, being part of the program from 2004 to 2009. Her career reflects the commitment and perseverance of students who have gone through Becas Vallarta and are now successful professionals in their respective fields.
The event not only served as a reunion for alumni and supporters but also reinforced the importance of continuing to invest in education in the region. Becas Vallarta remains committed to reducing school dropout rates and providing opportunities for talented young individuals facing economic barriers in their academic pursuits.

We extend our gratitude to all attendees for their participation and to Daiquiri Dick’s restaurant for their hospitality and support in making this breakfast possible. These gatherings inspire us to continue promoting access to education and strengthening the bonds within our community.
